Bath Room Workover |
|

Shower in it's original glory!! The whole bathroom is covered in that disgusting tile. I painted over all areas other than wet shower area. |
|
|
Window trim,
shower curtain removed. Tile cleaned and prepped for tub surround
adhesive with Tilex, then whole area wiped down with standard rubbing
alcohol to remove any left over soap residues.
|
|
|
5 Piece tub surround cut, glued and caulked.
If you try this at home kids be prepaired!! You will not have two
matching flat walls in this area or your whole house for that matter.
This surround material on these kits is rather thin and kind of a
turn off when you unpack it, don't be discouraged. Once you have it
on the walls it's just fine and you'll be happy.

Replaced window trim (refinished) painted the rest of the exposed tile. Replaced faucet, water valves and touched up caulk.
Window still needs to be removed for refinish and reglazing as well as another coat of paint on trim to better waterproof. a

Installed Shower doors. Once again the wall
tile proved to be a reall treat!! Three holes for the frame on either
end of the tub needed masonry drill bits to cut through the tiles.
What should have taken about a half hour to do took about two hours
do to breaking bits

Window painted and sealed up to prevent warping
and swelling of wood surfaces in this generally high moisture area.a
|
|
|
Removed sink and cabinet to reveal the tile
original color again as well as gold linoleum flooring. Both waterlines
were shot and plugged with sludge barely a little over a pencil thickness
of water floor.

Replaced water supply lines and shutoff valves.
Installed pedestal sink and new flooring. The blue tape is securing
the first bit of wainscott. More on that as it is finished soon.
